1 in 10 buses across Adelaide running late for third week in a row

For the third week in a row, 1 in 10 buses across the Adelaide network are running late, with the network recording an on-time performance rate of 89.5 per cent.

The North South contract area continues to be the worst performing service, running at 86.8 per cent on-time, and the East West contract area is running at 88.1 per cent.

“Buses right across the metropolitan area are continuing to perform poorly under the Weatherill Labor Government’s management,” said Shadow Transport Minister Corey Wingard.

“During the busy festive season commuters deserve public transport that will operate safely and on time.

“At a time when two major train lines will be closed for emergency maintenance the public has no reliable alternative.

“How can we encourage people to use public transport when the system can’t operate effectively?

“The service component needs to be restored to Adelaide’s public transport system if we are to entice Adelaide commuters out of their cars and onto public transport.

“It is quite staggering that the Weatherill Labor Government still cannot manage to run our bus network properly so that buses arrive on time.”
