Brock fails to mention jobs and electricity prices as issues hurting regional SA

Regional Development Minister Geoff Brock’s ministerial statement today discussing particular issues of concern to each region in South Australia failed to mention jobs or electricity prices.

This is completely at odds with what Liberal Members of Parliament are being told by their local communities in regional SA.

“It’s disappointing to see the Weatherill Labor Government so out of touch with regional South Australians,” said Shadow Minister for Regional Development Dan van Holst Pellekaan.

“Poor job opportunities and skyrocketing electricity prices are hurting South Australians right across the state.

“There is no region in South Australia not affected by these two issues.

“As Regional Development Minister in a Labor Government, Minister Brock carries enormous responsibility.

“The Liberals are committed to meeting with and listening to the concerns of regional South Australians, which is in stark contrast to the out of touch Weatherill Labor Government.

“The importance of regional communities in South Australia should never be underestimated.

“After 14 years of Labor neglect, regional South Australians deserve better.”
