November Out and About

It was a pleasure to attend the City of Norwood, Payneham & St Peters Citizenship Ceremony where I welcomed new citizens into our community.

Throughout the year, Vale Park Primary School have been working tirelessly on a Reconciliation Mural. At their End of Year Concert I was fortunate to unveil the mural. The mural is going to look wonderful and I commend everyone involved on their hard work.

Congratulations to the Gaza Sports and Community Club on being awarded an Active Club Grant. I recently met with President Gary Marshall to present the certificate. If your sports club would like to apply for this grant, please don't hesitate to contact one of my friendly staffers for more information.

I volunteered some time at the Rotary Club of Norwood Bunnings BBQ at Kent Town to give hungry shoppers some lunch, and mingle with the locals. It is always great seeing friendly faces around.

It was my great pleasure to host the Leader's Annual Multicultural Community Event with over 400 people attending. This event offers the perfect chance for all cultures to come together and celebrate the great diversity we have here in our community. A special thanks to the Hon Jing Lee MLC and the Liberal Team for their tireless work.

Most recently I was lucky enough to play the cymbals whilst I marched with the Kensington & Norwood Brass Band at the Norwood Christmas Pageant. The Christmas Pageant is a huge event and a great opportunity for all to come out and join in the Christmas celebrations with family and friends.

I have launched the third annual Local Christmas Appeal with all proceeds going directly to the Norwood Salvation Army. This Local Christmas Appeal would not be going ahead without the support of local residents, community organisations, schools and businesses, so I am asking you all to dig deep and donate items that will brighten up Christmas for someone less fortunate. Donations can be dropped off to my office by 5.00pm Monday 19 December 2016.
