September update

Vale Park Primary School held a Flag Raising Ceremony in celebration of NAIDOC Week. It was an honour to donate the Aboriginal Flag and a privilege to be involved in this event.

I was honoured to attend and officially open the annual SpringART exhibition at Loretto College. I would like to thank the organisers of the event and congratulate all the artists who had outstanding pieces on show.

This month I took 17 Year 11 Legal Studies students from Mary Mackillop College for a tour of Parliament House. Showing students  around Parliament House is a great way to highlight the history of the Parliament and see democracy, and the legislative making process in action. I encourage any schools or groups to get in touch with my electorate office if you would like to organise a guided tour with me.

Congratulations must go to the Norwood Football Club after winning the SANFL grand final for a third year in a row! As a passionate Redlegs supporter, I was thrilled to be at the game and to witness our team achieve such a solid victory over Port Adelaide. I hosted the Premiership team for dinner in Parliament House to congratulate them on their success – The Parade certainly comes alive during the football season and it is great to have them be so actively involved in our community.

It’s great to see that our local sporting clubs are thriving and I was delighted to attend the  Trinity Gardens Bowling Club’s season opening. Thank you to all of the dedicated volunteers who make the club such a success.

Finally, I was honoured to speak at the Ballo de Comitai held at the San Giorgio La Molara Club, in Payneham last month. This night has grown to become an important annual event in the Italian community’s calendar. Well done to the  Co-ordinating Italian Comitati for all the hard work they do to make the evening such a success!
