I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and managed to spend time with family and friends. I was fortunate to spend some quality time with my children, Charlie and Georgie, before Georgie headed overseas for the year.
Throughout December I was knocking on doors in Norwood and Joslin, and phoned many people within the electorate to hear about the issues that matter to them. I appreciated the widespread support I received with many residents agreeing it is time for a change of government so that we can get South Australia back on track and moving again.
You would have recently received a flyer from me which outlines the Liberal Energy Solution. This outlines our Plan to deliver a reliable, secure and affordable energy supply. If you would like any further information on this or the many other policies announced by the Marshall Liberal Team, please do not hesitate to contact me at my office.
I wish you all the very best for 2018!
What's been happening locally
I was delighted to attend the Annual Showcase for the No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability. This was an excellent opportunity for people with disabilities across our local community to become involved with performing arts. I would like to particularly thank Alirio Zavarce and the No Strings Attached performers for all their hard work and congratulate them on a truly enjoyable performance.
The Norwood Football Club held a 'Build the Fort' Evening in recognition of the support provided to the Club for the redevelopment of facilities at Norwood Oval. This plan will see the construction of the Wolf Blass Centre, a multi-purpose facility available to all residents, businesses, schools and organisations.
- The Norwood Croquet Club on receiving funding from the Active Club Program. This funding will go towards developing an underground watering system, which will improve the playing facilities for residents within the local area.
- The Payneham Cricket Club on their successful application for funding from the Active Club Program. These funds will go towards assisting with upgrading the facilities at the Club's cricket oval.
Year 7 Graduation Ceremonies
Throughout December I attended a large number of Year 7 Graduation Ceremonies across the electorate. A highlight of my role as the Member for Dunstan is witnessing the amazing talent possessed by the youth within our local area. I enjoyed the many speeches and performances from the graduating students and would like to congratulate all the award winners for their commendable achievements.
I wish the graduating classes of 2017 all the best as they transition into high school and continue their journey into the next phase of their education.
Norwood Christmas Appeal
Thank you to everyone who donated items to my office in support of the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal. This is an annual project which aims to gather a range of essential gifts which can be provided to those in need through the Salvation Army. The continued success of this project has only been possible due to the support shown by so many in our community, I greatly appreciate the generosity.
I visited the Norwood Salvos on the Tuesday before Christmas to deliver our items and met many locals who were collecting their gifts and food.
Your donation went a long way to brightening someone's Christmas, so thank you once again for your generous donations
A special thank you and farewell must go to Peter and Jennifer Anderson, who have been working tirelessly at the Norwood Salvation Army and in our local community, continuously supporting those in times of need.
I wish them both all the best with their future endeavours!
