This afternoon I am travelling to Canberra to meet with Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull to discuss South Australia’s future.
After 13 years of State Labor governments in South Australia it is critical that we have a responsible Federal Government with the right priorities for the nation, and our state.
The Weatherill Labor Government has delivered a dangerous jobs crisis with the highest unemployment rate and worst business conditions in the nation.
Unlike Premier Weatherill who has put up the white flag and conceded more South Australians will lose their jobs, Malcolm Turnbull understands the opportunities that exist for growing Australia’s economy and creating jobs.
I am confident that Mr Turnbull understands how important the construction and maintenance of the nation’s next generation of submarines is for the future of our State.
Mr Turnbull has a strong connection with South Australians and I am sure that he will be warmly welcomed when he next visits our state.
I thank former Prime Minister Abbott for his leadership of our nation for the past two years and his personal support to me as State Liberal Leader.
