The State Liberals believe it is imperative that safety is a key focus on any changes to the South Eastern Freeway.
“Three months has now passed since the dual-fatality truck crash at the South Eastern Freeway intersection and it is only this week that we have seen new warning and information signs posted along the descent,” said Shadow Minister for Transport Corey Wingard.
“For months, both the industry and the community has called for new safety/arrestor beds and changes to the speed limit, but the Weatherill Labor Government is still at the modelling and design phase.
“While it is important to approach the issue of road safety in a responsible and systematic fashion, it is also important to take action.
“The State Liberals welcome any move to improve the Freeway’s safety, but we do not want to see another crash while South Australians wait for the Government to make a decision and take action.”
