September Out and About

You may have recently picked up the phone and spoken to me or one of my volunteers. We have been phoning residents across the electorate to discuss important local issues and give people a chance to raise any matters they would like my assistance with. Cost of living pressures and the rising electricty prices are issues that are constantly being raised with me. If you have any issues you would like to discuss, then please feel free to get in touch.

As well as hitting the phones I have been out doorknocking in Marden and Felixstow and at supermarkets at The Avenues in Stepney, the Firle Plaza and the Marden Shopping Centre. As always, please stop by for a chat as I am eager to hear from constituents about matters important to you.

Updates on Life Care developments

Since my last email, I have now met with the Minister for Planning, the Hon John Rau MP. I sought the opportunity to meet with the Minister, because it's imperative that your concerns around privacy issues and the bulk and scale of the two developments are passed directly to the Minister himself. As your local MP, I ensure you that I will continue to represent you on these proposed developments.

What is happening locally?

Rose Park Primary School Year 5 students recently held their exhibition evening. We heard from neuroscientist Dr Dylan De Los Angelos, from UniSA and were able to view all the projects the students have been working on, with the theme being How the World Works. It was inspiring to see the hard work that was put into each project.

Norwood Primary School recently celebrated their 140th anniversary. Principal Nicola Brelsford was able to enlighten us all on the rich history of Norwood Primary School. A big thank you must go to Norwood, Payneham & St Peters Council for hosting another wonderful evening.

I was able to head out to Payneham Oval to see Payneham Norwood Union Football Club at their final training session before the grand final against Rostrevor Old Collegians', with Rostrevor winning in a great game.

Congratulations

I was delighted to attend the MetroStars Presentation Night where Liam Wooding was awarded the 2017 Club Champion, as well as the Players' Player Award. Congratulations on a great season.

Congratulations to Marden Senior College on celebrating 25 years. It was great hearing from the first Principal, Stephen Dowdy.

Coopers Stadium was the host for the Lacrosse SA Grand Finals. Congratulations to East Torrens Payneham Women's Division 1 Lacrosse Team on their outstanding win.
