State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall has thanked retiring Member for Heysen, Isobel Redmond, for her extensive contribution to the South Australian Parliament.
Ms Redmond has announced that she will not stand for re-election as the Member for Heysen at the 2018 State Election but will continue to work hard for her constituents until the Election.
On top of serving as the Member for Heysen from 2002 to present, Isobel was elected as the first female leader of a major political party in South Australia in 2009 and served as the State Liberal Leader until January 2013.
“Isobel has made an enormous contribution to South Australia, the Liberal Party, and most importantly, her local community,” said Mr Marshall.
“Throughout her parliamentary career Isobel has lead the charge in several important policy areas.
“Her unflinching advocacy for the establishment of the Independent Commission Against Corruption was undeniably one of the reasons the State Labor Government abandoned their long standing opposition to a corruption commission.
“Hills residents speak fondly of Isobel and respect her work representing them in the State Parliament.
“Thank you, Isobel."
